License suspensions and revocations are becoming more and more common in Northern Virginia.

Whether you have been deemed a Habitual Offender by the Commission of the Department of Motor Vehicles or by a Circuit Court, or have lost your privilege to drive in Virginia after being convicted of a 3rd or subsequent DWI, Attorney Swinton is experienced in guiding you through the process of having your license restored.

This process often requires completion of a mandatory suspension period, after which persons become eligible to petition a Circuit Court for license restoration. Persons must petition a court with jurisdiction. This would be either the court in which a person was found to be a Habitual Offender, or any court of record in Virginia having criminal jurisdiction in the political subdivision in which the person then resides. Other general requirements include: obtaining a copy of one’s Virginia Driving Record and completion of a Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program evaluation for those who have previously been convicted of a DWI.
